Ingredients for 4 glasses:300 ml sparkling wine, well chilled
300 ml orange juice (approx. 5 untreated oranges)
Cut the oranges in half and juice them (set one half aside for decoration). Filter the juice through a fine-mesh sieve, pour it into the glasses, and then slowly add the sparkling wine. Cut the remaining half orange into slices and use them to decorate each glass... et voilà, in no time at all you’ve prepared a fresh, thirst-quenching aperitif.
The Mimosa cocktail, known and enjoyed all over the world, is said to have been invented in 1925 by a bartender at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, who called the drink mimosa in honour of the well-known yellow flower.
