Ingredients for 5 people:5 slices homemade Tuscan bread2 garlic cloves Extra Virgin Olive Oil salt
Toast 5 slices of bread (the ideal thing would be to grill them), rub them with the peeled garlic, drizzle plenty of oil over them and season with salt. If you don’t like garlic, you can make them with just oil and salt.
This simple bruschetta can be enriched with other ingredients:
- thin slices of pecorino cheese
- tinned tuna and chopped onion
- grilled vegetables, such as aubergines, peppers, etc… and so on and so forth, according to taste.
This is a Tuscan dish that’s typical of the olive picking and pressing period – November and December. The oil, when freshly pressed, is even more aromatic and flavoursome. Bruschetta are unique, so simple and yet a refined delicacy. They’re excellent as an appetizer, a tasty snack or whenever you prefer.
