“Chi ben comincia... è a metà dell’opera” (= Well begun... is half done), goes an old saying, and to start a meal in style this gift pack contains some Carciofini Trifolati – artichoke “hearts” sautéed with garlic and parsley – to enjoy with the tasty, fragrant Datterini Tomatoes, Olives and Capers. Next come two delicious, tried-and-tested pasta dishes, Fusilli with Tomato, Olive and Caper Sauce, and Pici with Tuscan Sugo all’Aglione. The meal concludes on a sweet note with some Viallini biscuits, rustic, homemade (at the Fattoria) and Chocolate Truffles. And to accompany these specialities? There are the pink bubbles of the sparkling rosé Ca’ dell’Oro, and the red “Sant’Apollinare”, a Chianti Riserva that’s structured and potent, but at the same time fresh and with soft tannins.
