Olive blend : 80% Ogliaro la Garganica, 20% Coratina
The 2025 harvest – In Puglia, a surprisingly cool and rainy spring invigorated the large olive trees and prepared them to cope with the long summer in the best possible way. The extreme heat was overcome without any particular problems and also helped discourage pests, while natural, organic farming methods did the rest. The harvest, which began on October 20th, appeared promising right from the start. When pressing began, there were plenty of healthy olives, full of oil that was generous – also in its polyphenol content – like the land from which it comes.
“Olio Novo” La Malva 2025 – This oil is made with Ogliarola Garganica and Coratina olives, the area’s typical varieties, taken to the mill within 12 hours of harvesting. It’s a brilliant shade of green and emanates intense aromas of fresh grass and freshly crushed olives. In the mouth it’s soft, with the typical mellow sweetness of olives from Puglia and a pleasantly bitter, pungent aftertaste, which indicates the high polyphenol content. It’s a rich and versatile oil; used raw, it can add a finishing touch to a simple burrata cheese or a refined fish tartare, as well as enhancing salads and soups; it’s also excellent for cooking and for preparing sweet dishes such as tarts and biscuits.
