Fresh, dry, fruity, well-structured and, as of this year, more Tuscan! The blend used for the Fattoria’s “historic” rosé now also includes Sangiovese, the typical red grape of our territory, which gives it more structure, more character. The weather was hot and dry during summer, followed by frequent rainfall in early autumn, leading to a harvest of plump grapes and to good acidity. Rapid fermentation, with the must left briefly in contact with the skins, and racking, which only left the fine lees in the wine, made it possible to preserve all the necessary freshness.
Tasting – Colour: dusky pink, at times more intense, which acquires orangey tinges as time passes in the bottle. The nose: fruity aromas of raspberry, a hint of spice, floral recollection of violets and balsamic notes. In the mouth: well-structured, slightly dry and sapid.
Wine and Food Pairing – A versatile wine that is suitable for many occasions. It’s perfect as an aperitif (also served like a cocktail... with ice, citrus fruit juice, tonic water) or to accompany pasta with tomato and/or aubergine sauces, for example penne with Parmigianina. It’s also ideal with salmon cooked with lemon, octopus with potatoes and artichokes, chicken salad with “Giardiniera”, as well as with grilled meat, fish and vegetables (even spicy!).
