Every morning a profusion of aromas come wafting out of the Fattoria’s bakery: it’s Francesco – the baker/pastry chef – who, with his exceptional team, prepares bread, pizza, cakes and above all… biscuits. Rustic, handmade, fragrant, without butter but with extra virgin olive oil and cane sugar, completely organic. Some of these sweet delights are hidden behind the windows of the small Advent calendar: Cantucci, full of almonds and ready for dunking – in milk, Vin Santo, wine – and let’s not forget the Brutti ma Buoni, also in a chocolatey version, and the Viallini, a recipe from “home” (= the Fattoria) with pine nuts, walnuts, raisins and Vin Santo. During this time of year, Francesco also prepares Christmas specialities: exquisite “soft” Truffles, Candied Orange Peel, crunchy Hazelnuts and the new Almonds, all chocolatey and, naturally, organic!
